The Spring Tide Festival

Spring Tide & Sunshine!

HIVE BEACH was buzzing on Saturday 22 May with a brand new spring festival of local produce, crafts and entertainment…

Hundreds of people flocked to Burton Bradstock at the weekend for National Trust  West Dorset‘s inaugural Spring Tide Food Festival. Up to 45 stalls provided fresh local produce sourced from Dorset, along with local and arts and craft drawing crowds on Saturday to sample the delicious food and drink from some of Dorset’s award winning local producers.

Located on one of NT West Dorset ‘s most popular beach sites and on the world famous Jurassic Coast,  Spring Tide was a huge success with a full complement of stalls and over 1000 visitors throughout the day. Free tastings enabled the public to sample the food before buying.

The farmers market featured produce grown, reared or made within a forty-mile radius; including rare-breed meat, fish, vegetables, artisan cheese, bread, honey and preserves, ready-made dishes and hot food stalls. In addition to the market there were local craft stalls and free entertainments,

Caroline Richards Visitor Services Manager for NT West Dorset added  "It was a perfect spring day in a fantastic location. There was a really relaxed atmosphere and a nice buzz as you walked into the marquee with a great mix of stalls making everything so welcoming.  I would like to say a special thank you to Clive Sage, local farmer, Direct from Dorset full member and co-ordinator of the Bridport Farmers Market for all his help, support, advice and wonderfully calm approach in helping to plan and deliver Spring Tide.”
